Greetings listeners,
Today’s post came from my most recent Uber experience with a rude driver. I don’t work my dog anymore. He retired last year, but a lot of issues still plaguing visually impaired Uber riders is the denial of allowing a service animal to accompany them on their ride. While I don’t have that issue anymore, it has certainly impacted my decision to not get anymore guide dogs. People are the real issues. Either they pet the guide dogs while working, which they aren’t supposed to do at all, or they discriminate and don’t allow full participation for those traveling with a guide dog.
While today’s experience was more related to experiences everyone would have, it made me think of my issues with Uber, and all the problems I faced as a result of having a guide dog on past trips.
If this is something you’re going through, please feel free to give me comments. I hope you have a good day, and I’ll be back tomorrow for another #AudioMo post. Take care.
Blessings,
Melissa roe
